A
native of Ohio, Rev. Kennedy
attended Kent State University and
graduated in 1996 with a Special
Education degree. While at Kent,
she worked for a program called Cross
Trainers, an inner city day camp for
kids in Pittsburgh. She loved the
city of Pittsburgh and moved here soon
after she graduated.
From there she became the Director of
Christian Education at Riverview United
Presbyterian Church. She then
enrolled in Seminary at Pittsburgh
Theological and graduated with a Masters
of Divinity degree in 2004. In
2005 she met the man of her dreams
online and in 2006 she got engaged, was
Ordained to Word and Sacrament, bought a
house, got married and started working
at East Union Presbyterian Church as the
Associate Pastor – what a year!.
Since then, she has worked with the
Youth Group, Christian Education, Sunday
School Teachers, Deacons, and Vacation
Bible School among other things.
Her favorite part of ministry? “I love
being able to walk with people in a
faith aspect… whether that’s seeing the
joy in a child’s face during VBS week or
being able to comfort a family in their
grief. I’m here to point folks to
the Lord and remind them that God is
still with them whether they feel it or
not.”
Getting to know Rev.

1. Are you a

Night, definitely.
2. What is your

“For I know the plans I have for you,”
declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you
and not to harm you, plans to give you
hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
3. Do you play an
instrument?
If so, what? Yup, clarinet.
But, not anymore.
4. If you were a
superhero, what would your super power
be?
To be able to teleport. Then maybe
I wouldn’t be late so much…
5. What
TV shows do
you watch?
Monk, Psych, White Collar, Biggest Loser
6. What different
countries have you visited?
Europe, Africa, England, Canada (does
Canada count?)
7. Who has had the
most influence in your life?
My grandparents for sure. They helped
raise me as a kid, and I went into the
ministry because of them. They are some
of the greatest people I’ve ever known.
8. If you could
have dinner with a famous person (dead
or alive) who would it be?
Mother Teresa
9. Describe the
perfect meal.
Any one that I didn’t have to cook!
Actually, I love Indian food, Mexican
food, and Chinese.
10. Do you have any
pets?
No. I’ve been wanting to get a
bulldog named Max, but my husband is
allergic. I’ve had 3 beta fish in
the last couple years (Walter, Walter
Jr., and Walter III – Tres for short)
that have all died, so maybe we
should hold off on the dog! |
